Meridian West Central College To Celebrate First White Coat Ceremony

Sarasota — 04/27/2022 — Meridian West Central College, School of Nursing Class of 2023 will host its first White Coat Ceremony on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022. The white coat ceremony is an important transformative moment for nursing students. We invite our faculty, administrators, students, their family and friends, and the local community to join us and celebrate this important, special, and meaningful occasion. A history in the making for the college.

Meridian West Central College is a women-owned, minority-owned private college located in Sarasota, Florida. Our nursing programs allow students to achieve their goal to become a licensed Florida nurse and serve our communities. MWCC’s White Coat Ceremony represents a solemn and symbolic event for our nursing students, who will be starting their Medical-Surgical clinical training. This is a milestone that marks their transition to clinical healthcare settings.

The Keynote speaker, Dr. Beverly Bonaparte, PhD, ANP, RN, FAAN, an experienced nursing educator, will address the students. The MWCC Clinical Education Director, Ms. Judith Pierre, RN, BSN, MSN will proudly coat the students, thus, commemorating this great moment.

At the ceremony, Dr. Arnold Sta Rosa, interim nursing dean, will lead the students to recite the College of Nursing oath. This oath is a vow to their commitment to provide quality, comprehensive, and compassionate patient care, while keeping the patient’s best interest at heart, and to maintaining professionalism throughout their clinical rotations and in relationships with classmates, instructors, patients, and the community.

"Our first White Coat Ceremony marks the start of a tradition, a rite of passage for the college and our future nursing cohorts, to set the standard for compassionate care as a hallmark of their clinical practice." stated Maggie Goldstein, President of Meridian West Central College.

Meridian West Central College located at 201 Montgomery Ave, Sarasota Florida 34243. Founded in 2019, licensed by the Florida Board of Nursing and Commission for Independent Education, offering nursing degree granting programs. We are proud to serve the local community, and students all over the country.
